It is cleaner to keep the installs and their data separate from sources within HOME, so:
sudo bash -c "mkdir -p /data/env && chown -R heprez:staff /data/env "
sudo bash -c "mkdir -p /data/heprez && chown -R heprez:staff /data/heprez "
Version check:
b2mc:~ heprez$ mdls -name kMDItemVersion /Applications/XCode.app
kMDItemVersion = "4.3.1"
b2mc:~ heprez$ /usr/bin/xcodebuild -version
Xcode 4.3.1
Build version 4E1019
xcode-select manages the path to the Xcode folder for Xcode BSD tools.
b2mc:~ heprez$ xcode-select -print-path
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer
After installing Xcode 4.3, the Command Line Tools must be installed. This is done from the Downloads section of Xcode’s preferences. I guess this has been done already:
b2mc:bin heprez$ ll /usr/bin | wc -l
1067
b2mc:bin heprez$ ll `xcode-select -print-path`/usr/bin | wc -l
116
heprez uses basis packages from the macports package distribution system, which provides the port tool
b2mc:~ heprez$ which port
b2mc:~ heprez$
curl -L -O https://distfiles.macports.org/MacPorts/MacPorts-2.1.3-10.7-Lion.pkg
Check the pkg:
b2mc:~ heprez$ pkg=MacPorts-2.1.3-10.7-Lion.pkg
b2mc:~ heprez$ pkgutil --payload-files $pkg
.
./opt
./opt/local
./opt/local/bin
./opt/local/bin/daemondo
./opt/local/bin/port
./opt/local/bin/portf
./opt/local/bin/portindex
./opt/local/bin/portmirror
./opt/local/etc
...
b2mc:~ heprez$ which installer
/usr/sbin/installer
b2mc:~ heprez$ installer -pkginfo -pkg $pkg
MacPorts
Install pkg:
pkg=MacPorts-2.1.3-10.7-Lion.pkg
sudo /usr/sbin/installer -pkg $pkg -target /
